9 SSE Huntland TN - 9 SSE Huntland TN The first area of rotation investigated by our survey team today took place near the intersection of Hwy 65 (near Mile Marker 21) and County Road 27. Drone footage provided additional views of the start and end point of this tornado, courtesy of Jackson County EMA. The tornado began in a creek on the property at this location, snapping and uprooting numerous hardwood and softwood trees as it approached the house. The house had minor structural damage consisting of missing shingles and damage to a few gutters. In the front yard of the home, a small chicken coop was destroyed and a hay-barn-like structure covering the tractor was destroyed as well. The tornado continued moving northeast as it approached the ridge to the east, ending in a flat area on the top of the ridge just beyond Hwy 65. For now, this is the end point of the tornado. Pending further satellite imagery within the coming days/weeks, the end point may be extended when/if this imagery becomes available.
